First Course of 2010 Announced

Publishing, Copyright and IP: Protect, Collect and Earn.

In association with Music Industry Education Ltd, the BMF presents a new series of courses and workshops for musicians, music businesses, teachers and music leaders, of all levels, abilities, and genres of music in 2010.

We kick this off on 23rd February 2010 with Publishing, Copyright and IP: Protect, Collect, and Earn.

This one-off, free, introductory workshop will explore key aspects of publishing, copyright and intellectual property both in the traditional model and the modern online and digital arena.

In the modern music industry it is essential to be fully armed with knowledge of how to both protect and exploit copyright and how you can make the many different options open to you to promote and retail your music work for you to create income.

The workshop will be led by Music Industry Education Ltd with special guest speaker Andrew Gummer.

Andrew is Director of Business Affairs at Boosey & Hawkes and has previously led business affairs departments at EMI, Warners, and Mushroom Records. Andrew heads up a team at Boosey & Hawkes that covers Copyright, Licensing and Legal affairs.

The workshop will take place in the events space at Hamilton House, Stokes Croft, Bristol between 6pm and 9pm on Tues 23rd February.

Free to all. Places are limited.
